CulturalDC 2022-23 Branding

This spring, CulturalDC asked me to update some of their collateral alongside the new promotional materials that would coincide with the launch of their 2022-23 exhibition season. Since selling their brick and mortar gallery, CulturalDC has been bringing art directly to the community via their mobile art program, breaking down accessibility barriers and offering gallery visitors a unique, customized experience, hence their tagline “We Make Space for Art.”

Whenever I approach a new CulturalDC project, I like to take a look at all of the art that is involved, even if it’s not the final art that will be on display. This helps me to see their vision for the season, and it helps me to figure out how I am going to “make space” to showcase the art in a way that is engaging, seamless, and legible.

I utilized hand lettering and mark-making across all materials, giving them a personalized touch—fitting for a group that hand-selects artists whom offer unique perspectives and innovative experiences.
